Default Post your Net Speed.

I know we used to have a thread for this, but it's long gone. As an excuse for making this thread other than boosting my own epeen, I am interested in the speeds of people who might have Verizon FIOS now after another year has passed and to see if anyone has the DOCSIS 3.0 cable internet yet.

So, I'll start.

It's off Purdue's network though, so... technically not my own connection since they run it. But still, it's insanely fast.

Go here to run it. www.speedtest.net

It'll do. British ISPs think that we never upload anything.

My upload speed to miami seems pretty steady at .71 in 3 tests. My DL speed was between 2.91 and 18.30. Realistically I usually don't see downloads faster than about 300-350 kb per second. Ping is pretty bad.

Running of my Uni's internet as well. Not very good tbh... The ones out at the apartment complexes that students live in is like 40 up and 40 down. My college is cheap.

Rogers should be faster. Call your ISP and inquire man.

Also: AidinSwiftarrow, I wonder if they rolled out DOCSIS 3.0 where you are. Those speeds would suggest that, albeit being slower than the apparently offered speeds of DOCSIS 3.0, they are on the lower threshold of it. Perhaps try it during off peak hours (in the morning, mid afternoon on a weekday if possible) and see what you get?

Kuma, your connection should also be at least double that with Cox. I'd call them up and complain.

I have no idea what we pay per month, but it's sure to be overpriced. =)

Nah, that's the advertised speed where I am with how much I pay. They have a few more higher tiers with accompanying price increases, but I don't see the need for those.

Doh, noticed that I had Ongame streaming last night in a minimized tray. That would explain a little of the lower speed:

That's the actual speeds.

Maybe the DOCSIS 3.0 upgrade. That would be handy if that were the case.
